House of Prayer
“These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7)
The York River District Superintendent has called on local congregations to participate in a Prayer Covenant for the purpose of praying for the renewal and revival of our congregations, the Virginia Conference, and The United Methodist Church. As a Prayer Covenant Congregation, Bethany invites you to join us for a weekly time of prayer in the sanctuary from 10-11 a.m. each Thursday.
Prayer is one of the great responsibilities of the Christian faith; it is also one of the great privileges we have as children of God. It is an act of love and obedience that has a far-reaching impact and can effect powerful change. We invite you to join us each Thursday for House of Prayer, to pray as the Lord leads you ‒ silently or out loud, individually or with others. Let us make this sacred hour one of fervent prayer on behalf of not only the church but those we know who are lost, needy, or suffering.
“May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” (Psalm 141:2)
