G.U.E.S.T. (Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team) is a coalition of local churches that work together to provide emergency shelter for the homeless in our area during the winter months. Participating churches provide overnight lodging and meals to those who have no home of their own. Volunteers must attend a free training session (see training information below).
During the 2018-2019 season, Bethany UMC will serve as a host site (night shelter) on the following dates: December 3-10, 2018 and January 28-February 4, 2019.
G.U.E.S.T. needs volunteers throughout the year to serve not only in emergency shelters during the cold winter months but also at the Day Shelter throughout the year. For more information on G.U.E.S.T., visit the organization’s Facebook page or their website, www.guestshelter.org.
GUEST VOLUNTEER TRAINING is required for first-time volunteers and highly recommended as a refresher course for those who have served before. Please contact Al & Judy Burner to schedule training at a mutually-convenient time.
